Teaching Jobs UK

New Graduates

To ensure you have the best possible chance of securing a great position in the UK you will need to do the following:

  • Complete an Undergraduate degree in your chosen subject field with either a Post Graduate Diploma in Education or a Combined Degree Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education; or
  • Complete a Bachelor of education with your subject area e.g. Bachelor of Primary Education
  • Experience different schools for your student teaching practicum’s i.e. State and Private schools and schools in different socio-economic environments. This will ensure you have a range of teaching experiences to draw from not only for teaching in the UK but for any future teaching position you accept in your career.
  • Participate in as many extra curricular activities as you can. I know teaching practicum’s are tiresome however this helps to get great references from numerous people and enhances the rapport you build with your students and staff.
  • Ask all of your supervising teachers for a reference about your teaching skills and experience. This will show UK schools not only your growth as a teacher but the activities you have participated in whilst on practicum.
  • Come in and meet with us when we visit your University for a DVD interview that will be shown to UK schools.

(If we do not currently visit your University please contact us and we can arrange to come and meet you and your friends/class mates?)

When you have made the decision to take the plunge and go over to the UK remember that most long term positions become available in either January or at the beginning of the UK school year in September.
